BREAKING NEWS AT DMN BREAKFAST
Asked to provide her perspective on five key
issues and trends in the Canadian mailing industry, NAMMU President,
Kathleen Rowe, previewed the NIXIES by NAMMU program September 10 at
the DMN Briefing Breakfast. Fuelled by the industry need for up to
date address information and the void opened by the >60per cent "opt
out" rate on the Canada Post Change of Address Notification (COAN),
the NAMMU program is designed as a sequential suite of address
management services - the entry level service of which has already
been vetted by privacy advocates, and delighted the most stalwart of
consumer champions.
The first service offering targets the need of
business to continue doing business on an uninterrupted basis with
its existing clients. The payoff is enormous for Canada Post and
mailers: for Canada Post alone, a substantial reduction in the
forwarding of mail means a substantial reduction in cost: the USPS
estimates an average 25 cents per unit to forward; 60 cents to
handle undeliverables.
For
mailers, the opportunity to upgrade their files and ensure a
continuous flow of mail to their customers is priceless. The broad
range of services will be tabled at the NAMMU Data Management forum,
September 25, Board of Trade (downtown), 1 First Canadian Place,
8:30AM - 12:30PM, by Hans Wobbe, NAMMU Director, Data Management and
Privacy. For DATA MANAGEMENT FORUM information and registration:
