CANADA POST APPOINTMENTS
Stewart Bacon, Senior Vice-President, Marketing, Sales and Service,
recently announced two new appointments to his team.
Kathryn Haley
is Vice-President, Marketing. Kathryn will be responsible for
implementing an integrated, strategic marketing framework, that
informs the marketing requirements and synchronizes and aligns the
marketing activities of each of the Lines of Business, and of all
Canada Post sales channels. In collaboration with Robert Waite,
Senior Vice-President, Stakeholder Relations and Brand, she will
develop brand initiatives and advertising programs that support
efforts to enhance the “customer experience.” Kathryn will also work
with the Customer Service team to foster and implement a strong
“service culture” across the entire company. Kathryn joins Canada
Post from Allianz Group where she held the position of Senior
Vice-President and Global Leader, Customer Focus.
Patrick Bartlett
is General Manager, MSP/Sales Channel Management. Patrick will
manage Canada Post’s relationship with the mail service industry and
with individual mail service providers and Value Add Mailers (VAM)
with the objective of building strong, mutually beneficial alliances
with the important customer segment. He will also support Canada
Post’s growth strategies by working with the Lines of Business to
develop and implement additional sales channels to complement
existing Retail and Commercial sales channels. Patrick joined Canada
Post in 1996 and his most recent roles
are General Manager, Catalogue Strategy and Borderfree; and General
Manager, Direct Marketing.
PLM BOARD RECOMMENDS ACCEPTANCE OF TRANSCONTINENTAL BID
Transcontinental Inc. and PLM Group Ltd. announced that
Transcontinental has agreed to make a takeover bid to the
shareholders of PLM, Canada’s fourth largest printer. PLM has 470
employees in four facilities in the Greater Toronto Area. In 2006,
PLM reported revenues of $126 million. After consultation with its
financial and outside advisors, the PLM Board of Directors has
determined the price per share is fair, and is recommending that PLM
shareholders accept the offer of Transcontinental. The offer is
subject to usual conditions, including the deposit of 66 2/3 per
cent of shares outstanding and obtaining regulatory approvals. The
