Dear NAMMU member and mailing industry colleague:

At close of business today, the two negotiating teams supported by a very hands oninvolvement by the Honourable Andre Ouellet, appear to be making solid, sustainable progress on the outstanding issues. Intensive talks have been going on throughout the day and continue this evening and if necessary throughout the weekend.

There are strong indications from both parties that settlement can be achieved by business opening Monday. In simple terms, but by no means a simple accomplishment:Business as usual.
