JTC MILESTONE
February 13th is a crucial milestone in the evolution of the re-vamped
Joint Technical Committee (JTC). Each of the three JTC sub-committees
established in mid-2002 will be examined closely for importance,
effectiveness and relevance. JTC members will establish their 2003
agenda based on the priorities agreed.

ADDRESS MANAGEMENT ISSUES
* Address Improvement Program (AIP) will
be tabled for status review at the JTC in February. NAMMU will set up a
National Information Session in March to review AIP.
* The joint task force on Quebec
municipality mergers meets February 14th in Quebec City. Guy Prefontaine
(CAA Quebec) and Richard St-Laurent (Canada Post) updated the NAMMU
Board on February 7th in conjunction with an Address Management Team
teleconference. NAMMU President, Kathleen Rowe, will table the project
as a national priority at the JTC.

NCOA STATUS
The significant opt outrate triggered a business proposal from NAMMU in
December to ensure business could continue doing business with its
existing clients. A key cost driver for any postal administration is the
number of times the mail piece is touched.
